Future Society Narrative
In the future, there will be a focus on psychedelics and research into neuroaesthetics as a way of improving mental health and encouraging society to enjoy the fun parts of life (Anderson et al. 2019). The acceptance of psychedelic drugs will inspire a trend of psychedelic aesthetics with bright colours and repetitive motifs. Individuals strive to stand out in a digital world, changing their aesthetic to be noticed. The retail industry will also mainly move to the online presentation as international travel for fashion becomes rare and society will shop more online than in person for safety and ease of access. Brands will need to compete to stand out and be noticed in the digital world (Accenture, 2020).
