Exploring the material qualities of water and pearls, this collection showcases sensitively hand-dyed textiles in gradient shades. Colours have been developed through extensive testing to create a mixture of gradients and colours throughout each look. Using silks, stretch mesh and nylon, draped silhouettes wrap and encase the body, emulating the feeling of being submerged in water.
The designer handmade Pearl jewellery to compliment the garments, wrap the body and mimic the iridescent shine of sunlight on the ocean. Additional pearls and silver shells have been used to embellish the garments and add more detail. Custom pearl safety pins have been commissioned by jewellery designer Serpent and the Swan to bring pearl embellishment to resort wear innovatively.
All garments have been designed, patterned, sampled, dyed and handmade solely by the designer.
